Yee Ha!

A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature.
It is Earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measure
the depth of his own nature.  Thoreau

After a pretty decent weekend, at least during the day, we had at least 24 hours of not so decent rain.
Walden   Wyndson pond is overflowing.

But it was lovely this morning.  The sky was clear and the sun was shining.

Yesterday we let Pride out into the back hayfield for the first time in a long time.  This will be what he mostly will eat over the winter.   It was so wet and miserable yesterday morning that I didn't even think of taking the camera, but he was pretty excited about getting out there.  He will have controlled access to the field for a while, as there is too much grass out there, and most horses don't have the sense to control their intake.  I said to Larry that he probably wouldn't be bothered about his apple this morning, he would be so happy to get in the field, but he proved me wrong.  He looks pretty good for a horse that will be 29 next March.
This morning.....

We continued on for our walk through the back bush,
and headed down the tunnel of love

Oops, I mean tunnel of leaves

There are still lots more leaves to come down though.

And then at the end Jake was really happy when he found a tennis ball that had been lost in the undergrowth last week.

  4. We have a pond like yours and it had ice on it this morning. No ice by midmorning though, the sun got rid of it pretty quick.
