It kind of struck a chord. Sometimes when we have sold 6 or 8 older hens, the next day we aren't down 6 or 8 eggs. It's like the ones that are left think, 'my gawd, I might be next, maybe if I lay an egg today, I'll get to stay'.
Maybe they are actually doing a midnight run to the grocery store?:)
