After having a bit of discussion with another blogger about butterflies, I wanted to get a shot of a swallowtail when I spotted it twice around the flowers the other day. By the time I got out of the door with the camera, I couldn't find it.
I was more successful today. I could see that one wing was badly damaged,
but was surprised how beat up both wings were. Maybe the butterfly is near the end of it's lifespan, or maybe it has just had a rough journey. Won't be hard to recognize that one if it comes back. This one today only seemed to be interested in these pink phlox.
Tonight a few of us agility types that are going to the Nationals, got together at a friends house for a practice. It went well for Jake and I:) We are going to do it again on Monday.
LOVE IT! Poor guy looks like he's been through a lot.
ReplyDeleteGlad it went well at practice. It's so exciting you're going to run in Nationals!
Lilly and I better start brushing up on Rally, we've got some shows coming up early next month.
That's one beautiful insect - they are really hard to get pictures of!
