Inspiring

Came across this inspiring video as I was looking for something else on the internet (Don't we all know how that goes!)  Don't you love how Zip still jumps some of the invisible bars.

Calli has this same cart, although we never actually had to use it.  We've hung onto it just in case she needed it as she got older.

I know of another agility dog that is in a cart like that. Lewis belongs to a woman that I knew of, she and her dogs had started agility around the same time as Calli and I, and we ran in the same division. Lewis was a big dog, possibly a retriever mix. A few months before Calli was injured, Lewis woke up one morning unable to walk. A disc had 'exploded'. After very expensive surgery and follow up, he did not regain use of his back legs. I saw him at an agility trial in his cart a couple of months later. As I was approaching them from behind, he turned around and stared at me, wagging his tail, and watched me until I was close enough to pat him and speak to him. I remember thinking at the time that it seemed weird, it was as though he knew me, and knew me well. Little did I know that shortly after that, I would come to know him very well. His 'mum' Anna became my shoulder to cry on, my sounding board, and my partner in all things regarding spinal paralysis. Lewis was an excellent agility dog, had previously won his division at Regionals, and one time at a trial it was arranged that Lewis would have a time to run a course. The bars were removed, just like in this video, and Lewis did his thing. There weren't many dry eyes in the house.
