Yes, the cabbage is from the garden. I had two of them left out there at the beginning of December. I cut them and brought them into the garage at that time, because we were heading into a really cold freezing spell, and I was scared I might lose them. In the meantime the outer leaves all dried out and shriveled up, and the stem sprouted some new shoots. Did you notice the cabbage leaves on the salad? I guess it isn't really wordless Wednesday after I wrote all this:)

DeleteI grew some too. My favorite recipe is to sauté it with some bacon, salt, pepper, brown sugar and balsamic vinegar.
