We had borrowed it years ago to find a small but important piece (one of the knotters maybe?) that had fallen off our old hay baler. Would cost more to rent one that it would cost to get new keys cut. While picking blackberries tonight I kept my eyes peeled, but no luck.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938874724231860923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-53798720533907770302016-08-20T18:52:40.445-07:002016-08-20T18:52:40.445-07:00Forgot to say maybe you could borrow a metal detec...Forgot to say maybe you could borrow a metal detector and find those keys in the field:)Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-23350166725507941952016-08-20T18:50:53.825-07:002016-08-20T18:50:53.825-07:00I would use Goo Gone on those sticky labels. They also get lots of weeds and greens and fruit to pick at as well. And yes, they can be a heck of a lot of work sometimes. Don't get me started on the ones that think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, and the spots to lay eggs are better too....Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938874724231860923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-31423956619086018282016-08-20T10:18:25.959-07:002016-08-20T10:18:25.959-07:00Karen, most of the time you write something that I...Karen, most of the time you write something that I can relate to, like keeping my mouth shut when I want so badly to say something. :) and then the chickens! There were three or four hens that just about drove me crazy all summer wanting to set. The hens that wanted to lay would have to crowd into the nest with the broody hen and there was pecking and fighting all the time. I finally got wise and moved all the hens wanting to set into a pen near the pond. I want to let my chickens out to eat grass, but they won't go eat grass, they stay right around the chicken lot and scratch up all the pine straw I worked so hard spreading. Chickens are work and you have a lot more that we have.Henny Pennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05958386938311591314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-54349866095536685472016-08-19T21:20:36.386-07:002016-08-19T21:20:36.386-07:00I too have tried an SOS pad, and it is too much wo...I too have tried an SOS pad, and it is too much work. I get the occasional jar back that has quite a build up of sticky. I will scrape a lot of that off with a knife. Sometimes the label applier doesn't always notice there had been another label on, and misses getting the new label right over the sticky spot. It doesn't look good! Sometimes I'm able to ease the new label off and reapply it in the right spot, and other times I have to make a new one and start over.
Thinking about garage sales in the morning, I'd love to go out for a little bit!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938874724231860923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-57846397251711913602016-08-19T18:53:20.652-07:002016-08-19T18:53:20.652-07:00Thanks for answering my question about the labels....Thanks for answering my question about the labels. Your dishwasher theory is interesting. Lately I've been using an SOS pad to get the stickiness off but that too takes some scrubbing.
You had a great idea with the broody hens and poopy nest boxes. The new nest boxes with the removable tubs are neat.
I wonder if you're going to any garage sales tomorrow. The woman on Wilerose Street ( where I got my cupboard) is having another one and I believe it starts at 8. Maybe I'll see you there. It's just around the corner from my house so I'll walk over.Granny Marigoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15858237999602347848noreply@blogger.com
