I will also try to tie some to each plant when it is blooming so that I know which colour it is, just in case it didn't get marked when I planted it. And lots of times I don't get either done, so I do end up with some 'unknowns'. Some tubers are quite distinctive and are recognizable as a certain variety, but not many. To actually mark right onto the tuber, they have to be very clean and very dry. That is fine to determine what is what when you are planting them, but the chances of that piece of tuber with the name written on it surviving and being visible in the Fall is pretty slim. I do like to sell some of the tubers, so it easier to sell them if people know what colours they are. Dividing the big tubers and labelling them all is very time consuming!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938874724231860923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-90303605330394049472016-10-12T20:08:21.463-07:002016-10-12T20:08:21.463-07:00Those buckets of Dahlias lined up on your porch lo...Those buckets of Dahlias lined up on your porch look stunning. My Dahlias were getting so ratty looking that I dug them out yesterday. Cut off the foliage and brought them under cover today seeing as we're supposed to get a lot of rain. Do you carefully mark the different colours, or just plant them all mixed in Spring? If you do mark them do you have any tips? I read somewhere one should write the colour right on the tuber but I don't think that would work here.Granny Marigoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15858237999602347848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-486219060874117495.post-45075399986004156522016-10-12T07:15:38.408-07:002016-10-12T07:15:38.408-07:00How could Dahlias be any more beautiful than these...How could Dahlias be any more beautiful than these?
